Mechanism of Action
Cefixime inhibits bacterial cell wall synthesis by binding to penicillin-binding proteins (PBPs), resulting in bacterial cell lysis and death. It is bactericidal in nature.
Indications
Maxpin-200 (Cefixime 200mg/5mL) is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections such as:
Upper respiratory tract infections (URTI)
Lower respiratory tract infections
Acute otitis media
Pharyngitis and tonsillitis
Urinary tract infections (UTI)
