Mechanism of Action
Clotrimazole inhibits the synthesis of ergosterol, an essential component of fungal cell membranes. This disruption leads to increased membrane permeability and fungal cell death.
Indications
Clotrimazole Cream BP 2% w/w is indicated for the treatment of fungal infections such as:
Vulvovaginal candidiasis (external application as directed)
Cutaneous candidiasis
Ringworm (Tinea corporis)
Athlete’s foot (Tinea pedis)
Jock itch (Tinea cruris)
Pityriasis versicolor
