Mechanism of Action
Metoclopramide works by blocking dopamine (D₂) receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone of the brain, thereby preventing nausea and vomiting. It also enhances acetylcholine release in the gastrointestinal tract, increasing gastric emptying and intestinal motility.
Indications
