Mechanism of Action
Metoclopramide works by blocking dopamine D2 receptors in the chemoreceptor trigger zone (CTZ) of the brain, which suppresses the vomiting reflex. It also enhances acetylcholine activity in the gastrointestinal tract, improving gastric motility and accelerating gastric emptying.
