Mechanism of Action
Iron sucrose delivers elemental iron directly into the bloodstream. The iron complex is taken up by the reticuloendothelial system, where iron is released and incorporated into hemoglobin and other iron-containing proteins, restoring iron stores and improving oxygen transport capacity.
Indications
Iron Sucrose Injection USP 100mg/5mL is indicated for:
Iron deficiency anemia (IDA)
Anemia associated with chronic kidney disease (CKD)
Postpartum anemia
Preoperative anemia management
Anemia in patients intolerant to oral iron therapy
Nutritional iron deficiency requiring intravenous therapy

Precautions
