Mechanism of Action
Gentamicin binds to the 30S ribosomal subunit of bacteria, inhibiting protein synthesis and leading to bacterial cell death. It exhibits bactericidal activity.
Indications
Gentamicin Injection BP 20mg/mL is indicated for the treatment of serious bacterial infections caused by susceptible organisms, including:
Septicemia (bloodstream infections)
Respiratory tract infections
